Ed’s verdict
I'm very, very impressed with this so far — build quality is awesome and it feels really nice in the hand. Performance-wise, I don't think I could expect any better: it's firing very consistently around 325 FPS on 0.2s, it went through two full mags on one fill without slowing, and the recoil is mental — probably my favorite recoiling airsoft replica I've ever had. I did have an initial hiccup getting it to fire, the dry-fire switch is confusing, and the wood handguard has a bit of movement. My big issue is I can't find spare VFC AK mags anywhere in the US, and they're like $60-70 each. From my initial unboxing reaction, I would highly recommend buying this.

Caveats
- First-impressions unboxing only; no accuracy, range, or long-term reliability testing
- Initial no-fire issue and dry-fire-switch confusion may be user error — Ed himself was unsure
- Chrono run on 0.2g BBs with 150 PSI gas; no joule figure stated
- Spare magazine availability in the US unresolved at time of filming
- Quotes lightly trimmed of filler words
