Ed’s verdict
Out of the box this thing feels like real steel: full metal, super solid, and sturdier than my VFC, with a top cover that doesn't wiggle. I kind of love the trigger, and when I fired it the recoil was punchier and harder-hitting than the VFC, with a full-auto dump that was so, so consistent and only slowed a tiny bit at the end. The mag wobbles more than I'd like, the glued orange tip took work to remove, and getting the first BB in with the speed loader was fiddly. At $700 plus about $80 a mag it's expensive, but not crazy for a realistic AK. I'm very, very impressed so far; GHK is living up to its name.

Problems he hit
Mag wobble: 'quite a lot of movement' in the mag well, more than the VFC · 18:47
Orange flash hider glued on with no grub screw found; glue left in the threads · 15:49
First BB awkward to load with included speed loader; lost a BB while loading · 22:17
Slight slowdown at the very end of a ~43-round full-auto dump on a single gas fill · 27:17
Out of the box
$700Price quoted
No chrono or accuracy testing done. Shot 0.25g BBs with 150psi Swiss Arms gas; ~12s fill, fired 28 rounds then ~43 more full-auto on one fill with only slight slowdown at end. Mags quoted ~$80 each. Full review and VFC comparison promised later.
Caveats
- Unboxing/first-thoughts only: no chrono, accuracy, or long-term testing; full review and VFC comparison promised.
- Replica, tracer, and BSK43 were sent free by Moss Manufacturer; video promotes the 'Badger 10' discount code.
- All scores are inferred from Ed's qualitative language; he gave no numeric ratings.
- Shooting impressions were with the included smaller buffer installed for more bolt travel, not the as-shipped configuration.
- Mag capacity never stated; Ed loaded 28, then ~43 described as 'almost a full mag'.
- Brand names transcribed phonetically (Moss Manufacturer, KazunaWorks, E-shooter, Arcturus); TM AKM classed as GBBR from context.
- Swiss Arms 150psi gas and the AKX were mentioned but omitted to stay within the 6-product cap.
